Terrible earthquake that occurred in Indonesia since the year 2004-2009
















Terrible tectonic earthquake that shook the island of Indonesia, Centered in Tasikmalaya, is not the first earthquake and was likely not the last, because the archipelago area surrounded by the Eurasian plate, the Indo-Australian plate and Pacific plates.

- September 13, 2007, SR 7.8 magnitude earthquake occurred on the island of Sumatra, no casualties were reported, the quake damaged several buildings.

- 12 September 2007,
SR 8.4 magnitude earthquake occurred in Padang, West Sumatra. Another 25 were killed, and more than 50 people injured.

- March 6, 2007, 6.3 SR. magnitude earthquake shook the island of Sumatra, as many as 52 people were killed and 250 wounded. Two hours later, occurred 6.1 SR magnitude aftershock

- January 21, 2007, an earthquake measuring 7.3 SR. rocked Sulawesi, four died and four people injured.

- July 17, 2006, SR 7.7 earthquake shook the coast of Pengandaran and the South Island of Java, and triggered the tsunami. 600 people died in the accident.

- May 27, 2006, an earthquake with the strength 6.2 SR. shook the Yogyakarta, more than 3,000 people died in the disaster.

- December 26, 2004, an earthquake with a strength terrible 9 SR rocked Sumatra and triggered a tsunami in several countries, especially Indonesia. 13

Forecast Potential Soil Movement (Earthquake) Month September 2009

Note from the Directorate of Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (DVMBG) Department of Energy and Mineral Resources shows that there are 28 regions in Indonesia, which declared the earthquake and tsunami-prone. Among NAD, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Bengkulu, Lampung, Banten, Central Java and Yogyakarta southern part, southern part of East Java, Bali, NTB and NTT. Then North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, North Maluku, South Maluku, Biak, Yapen and Fak-Fak in Papua and East Kalimantan Balikpapan.
